AllAudio AI ("we," "our," or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our iOS application for audio recording, transcription, and AI-powered analysis.

Our Core Privacy Principle: Your audio recordings and personal data remain on your device by default. We do not collect, store, or have access to your recordings or transcriptions unless you explicitly choose to use optional cloud services.

Data Collection

What We Collect

1. Audio Recordings (Stored Locally)

• What: Audio files you record using the app
• How: Through your device's microphone with your explicit permission
• Storage: Stored locally in your device's Documents directory
• Control: You have full control to delete recordings at any time

2. Transcription and AI-Generated Content (Stored Locally)

• What: Text transcriptions, AI summaries, and chat conversations about your recordings
• How: Generated through third-party AI services (Groq) when you request transcription or AI summary features
• Storage: Stored locally on your device alongside your recordings
• Control: Can be deleted individually or with the recording

3. User Preferences (Stored Locally)

• What: App settings including:
  • Theme preferences (light/dark mode)
  • Language preferences and favorites
  • Audio quality settings
  • Your name (if provided for personalization)
• How: Set by you through the Settings interface
• Storage: Stored in iOS UserDefaults and Keychain Services
• Control: Can be modified or cleared at any time through Settings

4. API Keys (Stored Securely)

• What: Groq API key (required for transcription and AI features) and optional OpenAI API key
• How: Entered by you in Settings
• Storage: Encrypted storage using iOS Keychain Services
• Control: Can be updated or removed at any time

What We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect analytics data
• We do not track your location
• We do not collect device identifiers for advertising
• We do not access your contacts, photos, or other personal data
• We do not have servers that store your recordings or transcriptions

Third-Party Services

When You Use AI Features

When you use transcription or AI summary features, your data is processed by third-party services:

Groq API (Required for Transcription & AI Summary)

• Purpose: Audio transcription using Whisper models and AI summarization using Large Language Models (LLMs) hosted by Groq
• Data Shared: Audio file (for transcription) or text (for summarization and chat)
• Processing: Data is sent over encrypted HTTPS connection
• Retention: According to Groq's privacy policy, API data is processed under their Services Agreement

• Requirement: You must provide a Groq API key to use transcription and AI features
• Your Control: Transcription and AI features cannot be used without a valid Groq API key

Important Third-Party Considerations

• Groq API is required for transcription and AI summary functionality
• Third-party services process your data according to their own privacy policies
• We recommend reviewing Groq's privacy policy before using transcription features
• API communications are encrypted using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS
• You use your own API keys, maintaining direct relationship with these services
• We do not have access to your API keys or the data you send to these services
• Without a Groq API key, the app functions only as a basic audio recorder

iCloud Backup and Sync (Optional)

When Enabled

• What: Recording metadata, transcriptions, and summaries (not audio files)
• How: Using Apple's CloudKit framework
• Storage: Your private iCloud container
• Encryption: Apple's standard iCloud encryption
• Control: Can be toggled on/off in Settings at any time

What Syncs to iCloud

• Recording titles and metadata
• Transcription text
• AI summaries
• Chat conversations
• Language favorites
• App settings

What Does NOT Sync

• Audio files themselves (remain device-only for storage efficiency)
• API keys (remain in local Keychain for security)

Data Usage

We use your data exclusively to provide app functionality:

1. Audio Recording: To save and playback your recordings locally
2. Transcription: To convert speech to text using Groq API (requires your API key)
3. AI Features: To generate summaries and answer questions using Groq API (requires your API key)
4. Personalization: To remember your preferences and settings
5. iCloud Sync: To backup and sync data across your devices (when enabled)

We do NOT use your data for:

• Advertising or marketing
• Creating user profiles
• Selling to third parties
• Training AI models
• Any purpose beyond providing app functionality

Data Retention and Deletion

Automatic Deletion

• Trash System: Recordings moved to trash are automatically deleted after 30 days
• Permanent Deletion: When deleted from trash, all associated data (audio, transcription, summary) is permanently removed

Manual Deletion

You can delete your data at any time:

1. Individual Recordings: Swipe to delete or use trash function
2. Transcriptions/Summaries: Clear individually through recording details
3. All Data: Delete the app to remove all local data
4. iCloud Data: Disable iCloud backup to stop syncing; delete app to remove iCloud data

Third-Party Data

• Data sent to Groq/OpenAI for processing is subject to their retention policies
• We recommend reviewing their policies for specific retention periods
• API providers may retain data for limited periods for service operation

User Rights and Control

You have complete control over your data:

Access Rights

• View all your recordings, transcriptions, and summaries within the app
• Export recordings and transcriptions through iOS share sheet
• Copy text content to clipboard

Correction Rights

• Edit recording titles
• Regenerate transcriptions or summaries
• Clear and redo AI chat conversations

Deletion Rights

• Delete any recording and its associated data
• Clear transcriptions and summaries individually
• Remove API keys
• Delete the entire app and all local data

Consent Withdrawal

• Disable microphone access in iOS Settings to prevent new recordings
• Remove Groq API key to disable transcription and AI features
• Turn off iCloud backup to stop syncing
• Delete the app to withdraw all consent and remove all data

Data Security

We implement multiple security measures:

1. Local Storage: Data stored in app's sandboxed Documents directory
2. Keychain Security: API keys encrypted using iOS Keychain Services
3. Network Security: All API communications use HTTPS/TLS encryption
4. No Backend: No app servers means no central point of attack
5. iOS Security: Leverages iOS built-in security features and encryption

Children's Privacy

AllAudio AI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app requires understanding of API key configuration and is designed for adult users.

Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. Changes will be noted with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
